but some are very worn--I suppose it's impossible to re-master some things.I was really grateful to get them in any condition, though. Who could forget "One Meatball," "The House I Live In," or....

Where do you come from?
Where do you go?
Come for to see my
Cotton-eye Joe.

Come for to tell you,
Come for to sing
Come for to show you
My diamond ring.

If it hadn't a been for
Cotton-Eye Joe
I'd a been married
Long time ago

(lullaby)

"The House I live In" is also on this disc.

One Meatball

A little man walked up and down
found an eating place in town
he searched the menu through and through
to see what 15 cents would do.

One meatball
one meatball
he could afford but one meatball.

He told the waiter near at hand
the simple meal that he had planned
the waiter hollered down the hall:
THIS HERE GENT WANTS ONE MEATBALL

(chorus)

The little man felt ill at ease
he said, "some bread, sir, if you please."
The waiter hollered down the hall:
YOU GETS NO BREAD WITH ONE MEATBALL!

(chorus)

The little man felt very bad
one meatball was all he had
and in his dreams he hears that call:
YOU GETS NO BREAD WITH ONE MEATBALL!

(chorus)
