What I like most about this Joseph Joseph colander is the fact that it is so easy to use and doesn't fall over.
When you grip it to hold it, you feel as though you have got a good hold (no worries about it falling from your hands). This is all to do with the ergonomic shape. It feels substantial and not flimsy which is what you need when dealing with hot (boiling) water when straining your veg etc.
It stands up straight and level, not likely to be knocked over by accident, and best of all it goes in the dishwasher and still comes out looking like new (no faded colour) and mine has been in quite a lot recently.
The big plus with this from other various other makes is that this one fits into the sink nicely with it being the shape it is.
I know I have put salad leaves into mine and rinsed them under the tap so much easier than using a round one, the leaves get wet instead of myself.
It might seem expensive but over time pretty sure it will pay for itself.
Now I choose the black one, but there is a colour to suit everyone's mood or kitchen decor in the range.

Great product that sits in the sink to drain, ideal for use as an additional colander. Not so great if you need to use the liquid for gravy etc.,as does not fit into any jugs that I have. Also not sure why folding is in description as it definitely does not fold.

Agree with all the other comments made - stands easily due to shape and long handle that stabilises it, can use the handle to hook it over the side of pans etc to drain, looks good and my hubby the cook is very pleased with it.

this is really very good, it's square design makes tipping food out much easier than a round one, it's stable and robust. I would recommend it.

It's square, my pots and pans are round!
Got given one of these in Lime for a present, I love the look of it... BUT, it doesn't fit over my sink and it doesn't sit in any pans or bowls. Read more

Nice colander!
A bit of an investment for a colander but I like it!
The flat base makes it nice and easy to place in the sink whilst pouring a heavy pan of hot food.
