Book Description

18 Aug 2011
This book provides insights for the spiritual journey through a profound psychological engagement with the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis. Like Joseph, every human being faces problems in life - whether threats to identity, relationship breakdown, depression, bereavement, stress, personal failure or other forms of suffering. How we negotiate these crises, and what resources we find to cope with them, can shape the way we grow as Christians. In line with the story of Joseph, the chapters in this book are ultimately about personal transformation - how we can make something out of the life that has been given us. Over time, we may find that we have been co-creators within a larger story.

5.0 out of 5 stars a life less than ordinary for our learning! 2 Oct 2011
By J. DOUGLAS TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
Joseph is an Old Testament life that attracts a significant amount of commentary footage, yet here is a fresh humanitarian, rich biblical sweep of a hero of the faith. A distinctively psychology led approach is compellingly painted by Sara Savage. This is a moving and winsome commentary and meditation. A significant quantity of this resource is mapped out for small group or sessional use, and here there is much that I enjoyed also.

Emotion is real, explanation is clear and exposition is implied, in this fresh and insightful work. The structural shape of this title alone, in the place of Josephs encounter and the problems faced offers a tremendous and unique resource for our contemporary well-being. Perhaps a little too edgy for some but truly rich and freshly insightful! Very well written and full of transformation and much understanding. Top class!
