I think that this cable should have been bundled with the Jornada. It is far more useful than the cradle because you can't take the cradle with you on the road. I spend most of my week away from home, and I like to travel light. So I never pack the sync cradle. That means I go without syncing for several days, which can become a nightmare with incompatible versions of the same appointments /contacts/ bank accounts.
Of course, I could take the serial cable, but my laptop no longer has the serial port, and the replicator would also be too much to carry.
So, if you need to synchronize while away from home, and you also like to travel light, this cable is a must.

Excelent for mobile users with a laptop

I work as a business consultant and basically I spend my time traveling and out of the office. My appointments, tasks, and contacts change constantly, so its very important for me to synchronize periodically and FAST to my Outlook profile
The serial Cable does the job, but the speed is not comparable with USB Synchronization, specially if your loading a big file or an mp3 song.
