Wonderful book by a great fun guy! Shows you how to put the FUN back into your home... and life! I really enjoyed this look and even though for me a lot of what he said was common sense I still learned a few new tricks worth getting just to look at the pictures!

Nice photos, but the actual information... well it was pretty much the same as your average wikihow article or decorating blog... A little disappointing, but at least it's nice to look at.

At first this book looks like a children's book; but it is a simple guide to some wonderful decorating tips from Jonathan Adler. The pictures are eye-catching, clear and full of simple tips. There are pages for you to fill in your own ideas, in order to develop your own style (What do you want your house to say?)
Styles, muses, inspirations are given. The book is filled with color pictures that show different thoughts, what to do with all sorts of accessories, like books and flowers and pillows.
This book would be for any one except the most experienced decorator or those who absolutely can't or won't accept anything but traditional Chippendale.
But, speaking as a person who has a British Bobby's helmet next to their wooden Shichifukujin, the Seven Gods of Japan...have some courage, have some fun, smile when you walk into the rooms of your home. Use Happy Chic for ideas, and technique.

This book is fun and light hearted but i also bought Jonathan Adler's Book on colour decorating so was quite disappointed when the same images had been reused over and over. My sugggestion is if you are going to purchase this book -there is no need to purchase the others in the series.
