5.0 out of 5 stars Stand Still Better My Thoughts, 15 Feb 2005
The word for this DVD is graceful.
It is just Jon singing ad playing his quitar, harp and piano.
The backing is very simple and the accent is on the melodies.
Jon's voice is as good as ever. A lot of sweet new songs and great animations i really enjoy it very much. The DTS sound makes it special as well. Don't miss this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars More than a Concert - Could be a Concept, 13 Jul 2005
By P A Turner "P T" (YORK, North Yorkshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Tour of the Universe much better than expected. After 35+ years in the business anticipated a point and shoot video of last years US solo concert. It is clear however that plenty of thought and care went into this project. Yes it's Jon, solo, playing guitar, piano or harp. Some YES classics, a few older solo songs mixed with a handful of new compositions indespersed with some chat from Jon, but each song is treated to supurb background or visual effects, making it easy to watch over and over again. And when there's no time to watch, click on Lyrics and Audio for pleasant background music. We are also treated to an Open University "extra" explaining the Golden Mean and a facinating lecture on Golden Music.
This is simple melodic stuff, showing Jon's voice and personality at their best. It is more than a concert, it could be a concept. The standout track for me is a new composition, the last song, "This Is" (The Budda song). Has all the makings of a single, simple, catchy and uplifting, and following the events in London on July 7th, an antidote to the religious animosity that may follow.
Buy with confidence. Play with pleasure. Enjoy

5.0 out of 5 stars Jon shines, 17 Aug 2005
By P. M. Jones (Peterborough, Cambs United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is almost like a promo for the satellite radio station XM, and I did not find the bits getween the tracks that back up this claim too distracting.
Jon's own talking to the audience, which is not featured as the show progresses, is good - nice to hear him expounding his views and talking about his music.
His music is excellent - a good selection of new stuff and older stuff but of course, new solo arrangements.
I would call this DVD a collection of lovely music.
Visually the images are stunning and beautifully carried out. Technically excellent too.
For any fan of Jon, who likes Mother Earth, Friends of Mr Cairo, much of his other work and Yes, I would recommend this.
There are two special sections with people talking about the Golden Ratio - interestng how music is so mathematical and some excellent examples given, but I doubt I will listen again to these unless I am at a loose end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just JON
This DVD gives the viewer pure Jon Anderson. His solo work and his work with both Yes and Jon and Vangelis. His voice soars as he sings some fabulous songs, stripped bare. Read more
