Book Description

Two time-traveling special agents and a feisty young lady pirate captain join forces to prevent the course of history from being changed.

Zane Kirby and Gus McAbee travel back from the future to the Bahamas of 1717, where pirates rule the waves and Spanish gold is the prize that attracts them. The two agents of the Federal Bureau of Temporal Regulation must find a renegade from their own day--Roger Turnbuckle--before the modern weapons he has smuggled back through time to the pirates of the past can upset the balance of power in the Caribbean and change history.

This science fiction adventure comedy adds a new twist to pirate lore, by the author of “The Pluck of O’Reilly,” “The Cross of St. Anne,” “Murder in Deer Park” and “Mysteries at Midnight,” as well as five earlier novels and numerous stories in magazines and anthologies.

More About the Author

I have been a professional science fiction and mystery writer since 1972, and a professional illustrator and graphic artist since 1969 (illustrated "Machine Tools" and "Hoists, Cranes and Derricks" by Dr. Herbert S. Zim).

I began writing fiction intensively after military service and sold my first story to Analog Science Fiction Magazine in 1972. Numerous other short stories and five novels followed. The first two novels, HOUNDSTOOTH and A GAME OF TITANS, were large-scale techno-thrillers (ten years before Tom Clancy started doing them). THE GODS OF CERUS MAJOR was science fiction adventure. MORLAC: THE QUEST OF THE GREEN MAGICIAN was an epic fantasy novel, and DEATH HUNT ON A DYING PLANET was a science fiction adventure.

I have worked at Community Newspapers in Miami for more than eleven years as a reporter and contributing editor, covering everything from local politics, feature stories and "positive people" stories to new business openings, with roughly 1,000 by-lined stories published.

I have recently completed a Steampunk (Victorian Science Fiction) screenplay that my Hollywood agent is showing to major producers, finished writing an unusual sci-fi spy novel, AGGIE & AGENT X, and have added several new eBooks to those I already have on Amazon (HOUNDSTOOTH, MYSTERIES AT MIDNIGHT, THE CROSS OF ST. ANNE, MURDER IN DEER PARK and JOLLY ROGER).
