Not the greatest laugh, 17 Mar 2009
When the Joker is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, the Clown Prince of Crime decides that it is time for one last joke, a joke that will take as many people with him as possible.
The plot of this story is a half decent idea but the execution was far from perfect. The main problem with this story in my view is that it tried to do too much in too short a space of time and with too many characters. This has lead to a seemingly rather rushed story that has a feel of something missing that doesn't live up to its potential. Added to this, the artwork for this story is anything but brilliant as it unfortunately never gets above what I would consider an average
This story isn't totally without its good points however as it does have some funny moments, as you would expect from a story heavily featuring the Joker. This does little to salvage the story though and although it is a somewhat interesting read, the story has very little impact and would probably hold little interest for the casual reader.

Too many heroes, spoil the book, 24 Sep 2008
As Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons would say- 'Worst Batman story ever'. Firstly, this shouldn't be called a Batman book because the Dark Knight hardly features at all. This story is chaos from start to finish, with what must be every hero in the DC universe appearing at some point - half of whom I've never heard of.
Basically the story is that the Joker is told he only has a short while to live and decides to go out with a bang. Many, many, many heroes try to stop him and eventually...... oh I can't be bothered. I normally read any book I review at least twice but I barely got through this once.
If you're thinking of buying this atrocity don't buy it from the good folk at Amazon - you can have my copy! If you've read any of my other reviews you'll know I'm always positive as I'm a huge Batman fan, but I have nothing good to say about this one. Simply terrible

awful, 30 Aug 2008
I have tried to read this three times now but I just cannot finish it because it is so awful.
The artwork is terrible and the plot has no way of keeping the reader interested at all. Like the previous review states, there is hardly any Batman at all and the ending is so sudden and poor that I was glad that I skipped to the end after part 3.
Do not buy this book.
