Product Description

Many new mother experience leakage from their breast between feeds. This is perfectly natural, but can be inconvenient. Johnson's nursing pads should be placed inside your bra. They provide an effective, gently screen by absorbing any excess breast milk, whilst allowing your skin to breathe naturally. Holding and putting baby to the breast. Finding the right position on the breast often takes time and practice for mother and babies alike. The way a mother holds her baby is most important. The baby's shoulders and chest should face the breast, with the baby's nose at the level of the nipple. The mother should then bring the baby to the breast holding her baby across the shoulders, supporting the head with just the fingers of the same hand. A baby feeds with a wide mouth and an active tongue. The mother should wait until the baby's mouth is open and then the baby smoothly to the breast aiming the bottom lip as far away from the nipple as possible. If the nipple feels sore, the position at the breast may not be quite right and the baby's tongue may be rubbing the base or the tip of the nipple. In this case, a wider mouthful of breast is the answer. Breast milk contains everything a baby needs for a healthy, balanced diet and is provided on a supply and demand basis. This means that if a baby needs more milk then more is produced by the mother. It's also worth remembering that breast milk does not look like cow's milk and its composition alters during the feed. It may change from appearing blue and watery at first (the formilk) to a more creamy appearance as the feed progresses (the hindmilk). Remember that if a baby is hungry or thirsty then the only food or drink it needs is breast milk. Best For You Breast feeding is a completely natural process and once the simple techniques have been learnt, it can be an extremely pleasurable experience for both mother and baby.

A very good buy 3 Nov 2010

Never had any accidents in the 7 months of using this product. I tried several brands at first and found these very comfortable. They aren't too big which I found was a downside to many others I tried which seemed bigger than my cup size (c) so a definite buy for small/medium cup sizes. I did not rate this a full 5 stars as on the odd occasion the sticky part that holds the pad onto your bra has made a slight mark on my darker coloured bras. Other than that, very happy.

These are very discreet as they are cup shaped so you don't get that ugly lump on the ouside of your top with other pads. I found the size of these just big enough for me - I prefer the larger pads, especially at night when you are lying on your side and there is a lot of movement. However, what really let these down is the lint that comes off the inside of the pad and sticks to your nipples! It means having to pick any stray bits off before feeding my baby, which was a real hassle. I wouldn't buy them again for this reason.
