I loved the old edition of this book back in the nineties and was really excited to find out that it was being updated. It's now got all his new films and shows his transformation from Hollywood bad boy to family man.

It's a really great book - it gives a thorough portrayal of his whole career in films as well as showing us his private life behind the screen. It's also a great read and made me itching to watch some of those old films like 'Ed Wood', as well as eager to see the forthcoming 'Finding Neverland'. The black and white film stills and pictures really complete this tribute to one of the finest actors of our time.

This book is based on the life of Johnny Depp and outlines his career as well as his private life. When i finished reading this book i wasn't sure if i liked it. I love all the pictures but there are certain things that i don't really believe.
Biographies are good but they are not always accurate, so i think autobiographies are more real and believable.
If you want to know the real Johnny Depp just watch his interviews and watch him talk about his career and life rather than read it in a book not knowing if it's true..
If you are Johnny Depp fan like me you'll love the pictures.

Whilst the reading of Modern Rebel gives an insight to the character of Johnny Depp it doesn't tell the true feelings of the tremendous actor we would love to know. After reading all the written information on Johnny Depp, to date 30/10/05 this book will give his ultimate fans the information they desire. Only one book will proceed this and this would be Johnny Depps' Autobiography! Otherwise, read and enjoy!
