This DVD is probably for die-hard fans of Johnny Cash. The sources are recordings of old TV shows and, as such, the picture quality varies between weak to poor to blurred. One or two performaces look as if the screen is smeared with Vaseline! However, as a way of seeing back to the early days when JC had only recently become a big star and was still a young man, this DVD is excellent. It is also quite a surprise to see how much humour he could introduce into this repartee with the audience or the joshing between him and the Tennessee Two. There is also quite a strong religious feel to the content - but not to the point where it becomes dominant.
It is worth noting that this DVD is almost identical in track-choice (but not always the actual performance, and not to track-order) to another DVD - 'Johnny Cash singing at his best'.
