these strings were a total waste of money. you want good strings pay a little more money and enjoy your playing because these string will hurt your ears and hands...even though they are brand new they buzz and the material theyre made of is so rough and cheap that it will actually damage your skin and hinder your playing..

At the price point, you are getting exactly what you pay for.
My bass was donated to me as a student and the strings were at least 7 years old; I need new strings I thought to myself.

To my disappointment, the Cheetah strings were no where near as nice as the sweaty, faded and grimy strings of yesteryear: the tone really isn't that great. The bottom E string is the best of the lot, the others sound a bit too metallic and ring a lot unless muted.
The intonation is pretty bad, tuned open strings with result in slightly sharp notes the higher you go on the fret board. Please excuse my ignorance, if this is in fact due to the bass itself, but it does sound quite strange during playing.

I was strapped on cash and since I am still a beginner bassist, I recommend these strings for those who are in the same position as I.
At £4 you can't go wrong.

Edit: after a few months of playing, the tone of the strings had settled. it no longer has the metallic ringing. it must be the new string fallacy.

Standard bass strings go for around £15-£20 so these are a bargain. I was a tad dubious with the extremely low price tag, but at near enough £5 you can't go wrong. I was pleasantly surprised with the sound of the strings; they've still got that bright-new-string sound a few weeks on!

The packaging was slightly different as advertised- mine were branded 'Johnny Brooker' instead of 'Cheetah', which really makes no difference to me.

I paid for cheap bass strings and got more than I expected. Bargain.

I'm principally a guitarist (30yrs+) and the bass is more of a sideline. For that reason, I tend to grudge paying around £20 for a set of bass strings. £3.99 seemed impossibly cheap but I thought it would be worth a gamble, if only to convince me of the need to spend more in future.

My expectations weren't terribly high, but I actually quite like the sound that these strings produce. I fitted these on a Yamaha RBX-170 to replace the ageing stock strings. Compared with the latter, the sound is very bright and "punchy" with a noticeably long sustain. I've not noticed any deterioration in sound over the 3 weeks I've been playing them. They're also remarkably easy on my fingers.

If you're looking for soft mellow bass sounds these probably won't be for you, but for more rock-oriented styles these aren't bad at all. I'd definitely buy these again.

To top it all, the service from the supplier (“Waxacar”) was prompt & efficient.

I bought a couple of these for a couple of bass guitars that needed re-stringing. These are by far the cheapest I can find and puts other brands to shame for their prices! (I bought a Warwick set for close to £15 recently!). Those concerned by the quality can rest assured these will do the job for both standard and shorter scale basses, beyond that I can't comment. There's supposedly only about a handful of string factories in the world anyway, so how different can they be!?
The strings are seperated by see through plastic wallets and are clearly marked, even without them its pretty easy to sort them out e.g. start with fattest for the E string. Their well packaged also.

Bass strings are stupidly expensive, and many are much the same quality regardless of price, this is a decent set of plonkers for a rock bottom price.

considering most bass guitar strings cost around £15...I was shocked to find these bad boyz for 5 quid!
they are more suited to fender bass guitars, simply because they have the red wire at the end of the string, designed to fit fender headstock.

they sound pretty decent, only thing I would say is the E + A string seem alot thicker relative to the D + G string...almost like a heavy bottom light top stringe gauge.

anyways 4 the price these strings rock!

Came soon as needed. New to Bass Guitar so don't know much about strings and stuff but they seem fine and will use them in future.
