More About the Author

Well as you will quickly realise I'm rubbish at this about you stuff but here goes 1 minutes of your life you won't get back.
I guess I'm the writer responsible for the Alienbutt Saga and the Vampire Eloim short stories. Some people have been trying to claim I am an author but don't be fooled as it's not true. I'm just a drunken story teller that somehow managed to get a publisher. If you are into serious Sci-Fi and Fantasy stories then your Sat-Nav isn't working right as you should have turned left at the last junction. If on the other hand you enjoy a bit of stupidity to enter into your life then you may just have ended up in the right place, no promises though.
So about me, well I was born and brought up in the heart of South Yorkshire where i stayed for about the first twenty years of my life. I left there to go to university in Sunderland to study art but that didn't work out, after a few years of moving around I ended up living in Amber Valley in Derbyshire (For those not from the UK, near Nottingham, just think Robin Hood) After trying various things to make money I ended up writing a story for fun and it went down so well I get to write more. I have no idea where this is going but it's fun finding out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quirky and likeable tale 4 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Quirky and likeable short story featuring a host of gods and divine creatures who frequent a working class pub. Meet Lucifer, who is misunderstood and would rather not preside over hell and Death, as you gain sympathy for his dating problems. John the Barman combines oddball comedy and political satire, with a little dig at religion. This short also has scope for a longer novella or sequel, and I'd love to see a bar room brawl with this cast of characters! My only criticism is that although the story is entitled 'John the Barman', this character often seems secondary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just another for the road... 17 Feb. 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A highly enjoyable and very funny read. John runs a boozer frequented by the demonic and the divine, offering liquid refreshment and advice to his regulars. This is only a short story but within its pages we learn that gods carry all the troubles that we do; perhaps more so. I'd never before considered the possible marital complications experienced by Jesus or the true horror of zombified Morris dancers... and exactly how many people die every year from falling coconuts again? Excellent work Mr Scrimshaw, more please!

5.0 out of 5 stars best bar in the world 14 Aug. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
John the barman I found this story very much to my taste, short story but so entertaining left you wanting more. so many of the characters you could identify with in any bar in the world and this made it all the more entraining I found I could give names of people I know to nearly all characters including the barman. I will definitely be reading more of Glenn's books. WELL DONE GLENN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.........

Well written and hilarious. I loved this and was left wanting to read more about the going-ons in John's bar. I've never read anything with the characters used in this way before, was so funny. modern versus myth with a twist. Pure genius! I would recommend this book 100%. If you have time for a short story or two and are looking for a laugh then read this, you won't be disappointed.
