This is a decent collection of the Duke's Paramount movies at a sensible price. It contains three classics (Liberty Valance, Katie Elder and The Shootist) and lots of other good movies - there isn't really a dud in the box - except the box itself!
There have been many negative comments about how this collection is packaged, and they are all correct - and then some!
Like many others, I peeled off the cellophane, took out the inner packet and half of the DVD's crashed onto the kitchen floor. Luckily none were damaged, but as something like this happens every time you open the box, its safer to do so on the living room carpet.
The inner packet is enormous stretching to nearly 5 foot when fully opened, is entirely made of interfolded cardboard and has to be opened very slowly or the discs fly out like those little foam spaceships on a popular kids toy.
Being cardboard the packaging wears and tears quickly, which causes the inner disc holders to loosen every time you take out a movie which just exacerbates the problem. The outer jacket too is scarcely better than thick paper, and I have already had to selotape a few gaps and tears.
Finally buyers who like just cowboy movies should consider buying the Paramount John Wayne Western collection which has all of the Cowboy films in this collection and is about half the price. The packaging on that collection is also diabolical, but at least there are fewer DVD's to go crashing on the floor!
