John Samuels was born in 1947 in East London. Married with two children and four grandchildren he now lives in Petts Wood, Kent. He has spent all his working life in the betting industry, working for different organisations, from small and medium size firms to larger organisations such as Ladbrokes, Mecca and William Hill. He has held several senior posts in the betting industry including positions in Operations and Security. He has been invited to speak at many betting related gatherings and seminars including the Betting and Gaming Exhibition at Earls Court and at The Society for the Study of Gambling. He sits on the Betview Magazine judging Panel which determines the recipients of prestigeous annual betting industry awards. John also writes regular articles for industry magazines such as Betting Business Interactive.John is a member of the Expert Witness Institute (EWI) and, in addition to being part of the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS) team, runs his own consultancy company known as Greencourt Consultancy Ltd (email@example.com). Greencourt Consultancy specialises in providing expert witness evidence on betting and money laundering issues. His book 'Down The Bookies' has been highly acclaimed by betting industry experts, and betting and sports journalists. The book not only chronicles the legislative and technological history etc. of betting shops but also tells tales of coups, race fixing, fraud, money laundering, amusing personal anecdotes and much more.
