About the Author
John Pawson was born in 1949 in Yorkshire. His work focuses on ways of approaching fundamental problems of space, proportion, light and materials. His many residential and commercial interiors have included homes and art galleries and stores in London, Dublin, New York, Paris, Seoul and Tokyo, and his subsequent projects have spanned a wide range of scales and building typologies, from stage sets and exhibitions to boats and monastaries. The New York Times has called him "The father of architectural minimalism."

Anyone who loves the twin worlds of architecture and photography should consider this book, John has amassed a collection of photographs which are a visual delight, with explanatory text to add another dimension. With a mix of the natural and built environment, his architects "seeing eye" reveals delights in simple details, textures, light plays, with modern and historic structures illustrated in a fabulous way.
Another Phaidon classic, with a uniform page layout adding a continuity, and at the Amazon price a real bargain with 300 pages of treats to view, a book I will treasure and recommend wholeheartedly.
