John Owen-Jones, best known for his record breaking performances in blockbuster musicals Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera, presents his self titled debut album. John is the youngest actor in the world to have ever played the role of ‘Jean Valjean’ in Les Misérables both in the West End and on Broadway and can currently be seen playing the role in the show’s 25th Anniversary International tour. He has received great critical acclaim for his portrayal; The New York Post called him “…one of the best actors to perform the role” and he was voted the “Best Performer in Les Miz Ever” and Best Jean Valjean Ever” in a worldwide online poll of fans of the show. John has also played the role of ‘The Phantom’ more times than any other actor in the show’s West End history - the Daily Mail described him as “…better than all the talented actors to precede him in the role” and has sung in concerts all over the world at such legendary venues as the Albert Hall and Wembley Stadium. For many years John's fabulous voice belonged to London's West End, a Star behind Val Jeans beard and in the Phantoms Mask. Now, with this wonderful selection of beautiful songs we can share that treasure and listen to the best tenor in the world! If 'New Words' does not bring tears to your eyes your heart is a stone. If 'Myfanwy' does not insprire every Welsh man to score the next try of the century they are not true patriots! It's not just the power of the voice it's the expression. I'm not sure if you can wear a CD out by simply playing it.....but I'm having a good try. Come on John Boy!

This is a wonderful album. John has an amazing voice and it is shown to its best here. Love it, love it, love it!! Can't wait to see him on tour next year.

I have been a fan of John Owen-Jones for some time and a few weeks ago my Wife and I saw him live (for the first time) in "The Three Phantoms" concert in St David's Hall Cardiff.
The man has superb stage presence and the voice is just magnificent.
He sang a few tracks that are on the album. "Tell my Father" and "Bring him home" were real tearjerkers,and carried real potency in the light of the Afghanistan conflict.
I don't know whether Bryn Terfel or the other guests were brought in to give the album a push or not.All I can say is that anyone interested in musical theatre or who just appreciates a great voice must buy this album.
