John Hughes was the Dean of Chapel at Jesus College Cambridge and an affiliated Lecturer in the Cambridge University Faculty of Divinity where he taught philosophy, ethics, and Christian doctrine. Previously he was Curate of St David with St Michael and All Angels, Exeter.
He studied theology in Cambridge and Oxford, completing his doctorate (The End of Work) with Catherine Pickstock and Jeremy Morris. He was the editor of The Unknown God: Sermons Responding to the New Atheists (2013) and a contributor to Anglican Social Theology (2014).
John tragically died in a car accident on 29 June 2014.
