I noticed I'm the first male to review this product. Another reviewer commented on being suspicious of this scent on a man. The way it reacts with the different acidity of the skin in men and women varies the scent. I've been using this for about three years or so now and have had many compliments about it in the past and I'm still very pleased. Although it's fairly expensive it's worth it and I would highly recommend.
Gaultier to the Power of two - to give it it's proper name, as with all aftershaves/perfumes, is very much an acquired taste.
But boy is this stuff potent! If you're going out in an evening and are travelling in a car with a group of passengers, no other frangrance will stand a chance of over-powering G2. As such, I'd recommended no more than 2x squirts just to be safe - it really is that strong.
I'm not all that good at describing the various elements of a fragrance, but to me it smells sort of vanilla-ish, with some musky overtones. It's very "Gaultier"-like, so if you like other Gaultier fragrances then it fits well with the family of fragrances as a whole, but owing to the fact that technically this fragrance is unisex, it is quite a well-rounded smell that can appeal to either sex.
One thing I will say, is that this is often very hard to get hold of. You don't often find it in high-street stores, but if you happen upon it at a good price and have never tried it before, it's definitely worth a gamble.
I've been buying G2 for about 6 years so am well-accustomed to it's smell, and I will continue to buy it as long as it is available.
