You need an internet connection to go into career mode which is bad as I have an original japanese PS3 with no bluetooth, so will have to connect it to ethernet, single player works fine though on the courses, though to unlock more you need to be online.
Apart from that the playability with the move is good. I actually find my real world tendency of occasionally hooking some shots is happening sometimes in the game, which would be an amazingly accurate reflection of my swing. My best score so far is 5 under! which is pretty good. The putting feels really realistic almost as if you are putting a real ball. A couple of glitches in the game though, commentators sometimes say a shot is poor when it is 300 yards centre of the fairway and I would prefer a wider view of the green and landing area of the ball.
Takes a bit to get used to judging how far to swing back with distances especially with short chips can be tricky. There could be more putting distance options also as you go from 30 feet full swing to the next option being 30 yards or something which makes it tricky to judge in-between distances. There could be a gradation of difficulty added as it seems to be standard realism difficulty, although I got used to it pretty quick, might take longer for someone who doesn't play in real life.
I was looking for an alternative to EA who I see now as cynical money makers with no ethics for continuing to milk TW even after his transgressions, as nike did.
I used to be a fan of John Daly also growing up, remember watching him win the USPGA with some great shots on TV and got his autograph at turnberry about 10 years ago, so thought it was cool he was bringing this out. I think it's a really good first step into the golf gaming market by this team, I'd give it 8 out of 10.
