A Great Collection ofpost-Pentangle ensemble works 28 April 2000
By "rootwitch" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This CD is a selection from the two studio albums by the John Renbourn Group. After Pentangle disbanded, Renbourn relocated to the countryside and, with the help of a few friends (specially flutist and reedman Tony Roberts)he started to get back to music, and perhaps the environment, more than anything else, contributed to the material chose for these sessions. In retrospect, it's quite odd that such pastoral and delicate music comes from the early days of punk efervescence. Nevertheless, Renbourn delivers his usual finesse and great command of the instrument. Add Jacqui McShee's angelical voice, Tony Robert's vast array of wind instruments and the eccentric tabla percussion to the formula and you get a sublime, uplifting musical experience.

Wrong song samples for this CD Amazon.com! 5 Oct 2004
By td - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
The song samples for this CD are from "Maid in Bedlam" and "Enchanted Garden" both excellent, particularly Maid in Bedlam. Please fix this up Amazon as John Barleycorn looks like a great bluesy/jazz tinged effort from Renbourn & Co and I may want to buy it.
