This is without doubt one of the best guitar based DVD's I've heard in some while. I'd not heard Joe Bonamassa play live or on record but purchased this DVD having read reviews of his live gigs on tour in europe in 2005 and how crowds were blown away by his performances.Watch this space...because this New Yorker is going to be huge, great voice and guitar skills that will make him a blues-rock great. He can rock with the best of them yet is also very melodic as well,he plays a whole range of different styles, with a band comprising of bass guitar and drums

who are rock solid. Brilliant sound well filmed, your drawn into

this gig.Be prepared to be a JB fan because this lad can surely

play...absolutely recommended without reservation 5 stars.

I only came across Joe a few days ago and on the strength of a few tracks ordered the DVD. It is EXPLOSIVE stuff. The guy has God-given guitar talent and the voice of a (somewhat gritty!) angel. And his band - him + bass + drums - play together like they share DNA. It's raw (but polished!) blues and rock - includes Joe originals and a few covers, all with Joe's special touch. This huy has the virtuosity of SRV and Robben Ford in one and his voice reminds me of Michael Bolton (actually meant as a compliment!). A great live set, filmed brilliantly and with superb sound quality. I can't recommend this enough. I'm currently recruiting fans like nobody's business!

Exceptional guitarist is an understatement for this guy and his band. Obviously influenced by 70's Briish rock Joe adds his own highly talented style to every thing he plays. His virtuosity is well illustrated here on this first class dvd. It goes from slow almost delta style blues thro' rock, jazz, fusion and everything in between. In the concert Joe is backed by a bass and drums...both played with a talent equal to Joe's. This makes for a highly competent trio to equal the best that I have seen in my following of the blues/rock scene for over 40 years.
I highly recomend this guy and his music to anyone who likes guitar driven music. The dvd captures what a good gig should represent. Get this, put on the surround sound and crank it up....you will not be dissapointed.

At the age of 12 Joe Bonamassa opened a show for BB King so you know he is going to no slouch around the fretboard. You can also assume from this that he is going to be a bluesman. The fact doesn't, however, fully prepare you for Joe's take on the blues. Take a bit the three kings, (BB , Albert and Freddie), add some of the generation inspired them (Clapton, Page, Green etc) and stir in some of the following guitarists; Robin Ford, Eric Johnson and you have an idea of where Joe is coming from.

However, a great technique is only part of the story. Joe also has feel and emotion in shovel loads and from the look on his face, clearly loves playing the music.

So, good songs, interesting arrangements, well recorded sound great playing from Joe and the band - all looking like their playing for the joy of it and not as a job. What are you waiting for buy it now.

If you like Gary Moore you'll love this guy - even better and faster than Gary, Joe Bonamassa not only gives it big licks by the bucket load but his phrasing is fantastic, couple this with flawless playing at warp speed and you start to get the picture.

Joe started to play guitar at the age of four and practiced for six hours a day concentrating on speed and precision - well he managed to get just that!
The other two band members are also very good, the track 'Had To Cry Today' features a brillian bass line, While 'The River' is a slide guitar fest that starts slow then REALLY Rocks.
Also there is a very good version of New Day Yesterday (Jethro Tull).

This DVD Blew me away when I first watched it and had me trawling the net to see if he was gigging in this country, luckily he was, so I went down to see him and boy can he play live!

If you buy one music DVD this year make it this one - you will not be disappointed.

Anyone who's heard Joe Bonamassa can vouch for the magic of his playing.

This DVD lets you see the artistry, the virtuosity, the passion and the power. But not as best as can be.

It's a pity the video seems to have been directed by a Gen Y who's recently graduated from film school. Why use one shot when you can use ten? Why keep the camera upright when, hey, you can turn it upside down as well? Why point the camera in one direction when you can wave it around like a garden hose watering the petunias?

However, until something better comes along it's still pretty damn good viewing if you like your blues electric and in your face. Joe's magic makes the visual deficiencies of this video disappear.

I can't believe this guy is still so low profile.

Definitely worth getting hold of....

After years of derivative recyled pap that comes out of the blues rock fraternity, this kid comes forth with an energy and vigour that raises the bar and gives it the kiss of life rendering all other "luminaries" redundant. Apart from this the DVD is superb sound quality, I agree with a previous reviewer about the style of film making but I still think the atmosphere of the gig is captured impressively. This DVD is a worthy addition to fans of blues rock, highly recommended.
