11 Feb 2010
Jodie is eight years old and resigned to going on a tour of a boring old mansion during her summer holiday. The last thing she expected was to leave with a new, and very unusual, best friend - a Victorian Ghost called Lilly. In The Fake Mansion - Jodie meets Lilly for the first time and the pair devise a plan to expose the true identity of the pompous Lord and Lady Croftfield In The Bully - Meryl Mangle's days of menacing her classmates are soon at an end when Lilly teaches her a lesson she will never forget. In The School Trip - A daytrip to Carstairs Abbey turns into an enthralling adventure as Jodie and Lilly foil a robbery and solve the old mystery of Devious Dave's hidden treasure.

More About the Author

Steve Horsfall was born in 1965, and is the author of four novels, You Are Here (currently under review with a major British film company for screenplay adaptability), It's Cold Outside & Full Story Inside. Steve's 4th novel is very unique and, he hopes, a fitting tribute to Charles Dickens; published under a pen name (April 2011).

Steve is also the author of the 'Jodie & Lilly' series (children's books) under the name of S J Horsfall.A new (4th) Jodie & Lilly adventure was published on 3rd March 2014 - Jodie & Lilly...and the Talent Show.

Steve is currently writing a series of short stories, set in a fictional 1930s British town and as a homage in style to the tales of Sam Spade, Phillip Marlowe and Mike Hammer. The first 2 Books in the series, Harry Banner in...Notice To Die & Harry Banner in...Here and Then Gone are both available on Kindle and in Paperback.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming bed time reading 22 Feb 2010
By Matty
Format:Paperback
There are three stories in this Jodie and Lilly book and they make ideal reading for kids at bedtime. The basic premise is that a young girl named Jodie meets and befriends an imaginary (or ghostly) friend called Lilly. This is all set up in the first adventure in the fake mansion.
My daughter loved the stories and because there's lots of dialogue and memorable characters I was able to make it interesting for her (and myself) by putting on different voices. The snooty owner of the mansion in the first story was a personal highlight.
Good fun.
