3.0 out of 5 stars Jodie Foster: A Biography 14 July 2002
By A Customer
This book follows Jodie Foster's career from the early years onwards. It is well written and an interesting read for avid Jodie Foster fans. I did find the Author's constant praise of the star a little overdone however. My main problem with this book is that you only get to know Jodie Foster the star, not Jodie Foster the person.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jodie Foster; Very private and very great! 25 Feb 2012
By Maldwyn
The first thing to strike anyone reading this biography is that Louis Chunovic had a fascinating journey to make to get to write it. Jodie Foster is and probably always will be a very private and shy person. What a serious and dedicated actress she is. Her life has been full, Not only in the world of 'Hollywood' but also personally and academically. She has shown herself to be very intelligent both at school and later at University. Even if you're not a fan of Jodie Foster you will be fascinated by this book. Louis Chunovic has had to be surreptitious and inventive in his aim to write this very good;(given the subject) and revealing biography.

2.0 out of 5 stars biography or autobiography? 28 Aug 2002
By A Customer
This is the first biography i have read so i didn't really know what to expect.
I think i expected something a lot different to what i actually read.
The book was quite dry, it was more like a chronology than a biography. I don't doubt that the author spent a lot of time and effort on this book but i wanted something more 'emotionally involved' than just a review of the films Ms Foster has appeared in.
What ever happened to interviewing friends and family? They could have no doubt gave a positive, unique insight into the tears and laughter of Ms Foster.
Unfortunately there was nothing 'new' in this book that someone else couldn't have found out just by reading old magazine clippings - sorry but this book is only just worthy of the 2 stars rating - better luck next time.
