My 3 year old little boy loves this book. The pictures are great and the stories work on lots of different levels. The individual stories are a good length and very informative.

A lovely book with fun illustrations. The various stories are engaging for children from around 3 years old up to around age 7. Great for starting discussions about jobs and experiences such as going to the doctors/ starting school. Strongly recommend adding this to your collection!

I bought this as a gift for a friends 3 year old boy. He loves firemen & wanted a change from all the fireman Sam stuff. He loves the book & so do his parents. You can read a basic story or read the added information on each page. It provides a lot of facts for all those endless questions 3 year olds have! It's also ideal as it covers other professions such as policeman & nurse. I recommend it for all curious 3 year olds.

awesome illustrations 18 April 2009

Beautifully written, and fantastic illustrations. The more my child looked the more he could see. He loves the farmer and the firefighter - funny how cliched little boys are. This book is not cliched at all though, there are female firefighters, male nurses and multicultural classrooms in this book. The little thumbnails at the front help my 2yr old choose which job he wants to read about which is a clever way to introduce the "index" concept too.

Best Usborne Book (or one of...) 21 May 2010
By Elizabeth L. Mereckis - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
My three boys love this book. It is a collection of stories about a day in the life of people in different professions. The artwork is really nice and the stories are easy to follow. My 2 year olds listen intently and my almost 5 year old has the stories memorized. He has even noticed that some of the characters make appearances in more than one story! Don't ask me how he can tell this, but it is nice that all of the stories seem to happen in the same town so kids can get a sense of community and interaction. Love this book!

After my mom gifted this book to our oldest child at 2, we "paid it forward" by giving it as a 3rd birthday gift several times. The book is highly interactive and has terrific, kid-friendly illustrations. With stories that engage your child and embrace characters of different cultures, this is definitely one to add to your at-home library.
