First of all, I should point out that although Amazon recommends that the Essential Version and the Advanced version are perfect partners - they are not! The Advanced version has everything in it that the Essential version has and more, so you don't need to buy both.
I got the DVD for my girlfriend who was applying for a really important job. It really helped her prepare for the difficult parts of the interview, giving some good examples of interview questions and how to deal with some of the things that might go wrong. There were also some great hints that she felt gave her a real edge over the other candidates. She certainly felt that she was far more in control of the interview, and had made a really strong impact on the interviewer (all through the interview things that she'd learnt off the DVDs kept popping into her mind, allowing her to give great answers to some tough questions!).
The DVD was really easy to watch and to take in the advice, especially coming from the mouths of employers and recruiters who obviously have quite a lot of experience.
She has been bouncing round the living room ever since she heard she had been offered the job.

I wasn't sure about purchasing a DVD on interview skills, but I also couldn't be bothered to wade through any books on the subject, so I took the plunge. I have to say I was really impressed by the content. It is over an hour of non-stop tips delivered by directors and recruitment consultants (the sort of people you are going to meet in an interview).
The information is delivered in chapters with each on the contributors giving the techniques that have impressed them at interviews they have done. There is a synopsis at the end of each chapter which makes for a nice reminder of what has been said. However, I would recommend having a pen and paper handy though as there are so many tips that you will want to jot down the ones that you find applicable to you. I have found much of the advice to especially help with confidence.
Overall - excellent stuff presented in a really easy to understand way. An hour well spent, that at the same time could possibly change your life forever.

The advice on how to deal with salary discussions is invaluable and could save you thousands and thousands of pounds. this DVD has really helped me feel confident about being interviewed. Its brilliant at giving sensible advice and laying down a structure to the whole the process. Its changed my attitude to the job interview which I have always thought of as a rather unpleasant knockout competition. The dvd has changed my perceptions to thinking about giving the people interviewing me the chance to give me the job. There is some really helpful info about what sort of questions to ask at the end as well as some tips on how to finish the interview with flair.
Mostly I just found it helpful for confidence building.

highly recommended!
This DVD is fantastic. Quick, clear and it SHOWS how things work on an interview. Highly recommended to watch it before you would go for the interview of your dream job!
