This set gathers the music from the second LP of Sutherland's 1962 recital Command Performance (LP 1 is available too) with four tracks from her 1966 operetta recital Love Live Forever (available in part, minus these tracks, or in whole).
As light as the music is, it is a pleasure to hear Sutherland singing it. Unlike many divas, Joan Sutherland was a cheerful and sweet-tempered person at heart. That quality of La Stupenda shines through on this disc, making it a must have for any of her fans.
Her diction is never outstanding here, but it is still good enough, particularly when the disc includes complete texts and translations, even though Decca dispensed with program notes. On the whole, an excellent bargain.
