Having recently taken my grandchildren to see `Arthur Christmas' at the cinema, this book fitted in quite well with the story of elves and reindeer busily preparing for Christmas duties.
It is a hard board, five-paged spread book, with a padded cover. All the way through the book the two little jingle bells, on their festive red ribbon, which are set in a circular hole, back up the verse neatly.
There are five flaps to lift up to reveal small hidden surprises. These thick paper flaps are reasonably substantial. I imagine that this book will only be read annually for a month or so, during Advent, so they should last.

Tiptoe round and softly creep -someone's trying to get some sleep."
Will give you a taste of the words and the level they are aimed at. The art work is attractive, colourful, simple and reassuringly traditional.
The last double page spread is extra sparkly and starry, with Santa out delivering his parcels, accompanied by his reindeer and their jingle bells. The reader's finger can gently tinkle the bells at the given moment in the story.

This will be a great book to use with the children I work with. They will love the ringing of the bell on each page and the story and of course the characters. It will be a new addition to a great many books that we have about Christmas and it is nice to have a new version. I am sure that this book will become a great favourite with the children. I am very fond of it myself. Would recommend this book. It is a change from the many lift the flap books out there. And better than the noise books that you have to press with that sometimes horrible noises.

Good book for your little one. Language could be better as it feels as though the wording does not always flow. The book would be better if it had more textures under the bits of card to give more textures for the children to feel. The bell is good as this gets your childs attention. Great book for a babies first Christmas.
