This book is pretty big; my copy has 367 pages, which is probably down to all the additional bass & drums notation. Perhaps adding drums and bass in was unnecessary but if you play in a band, you've all got access to really good transcriptions of his best songs.
As for the review that says the book is only chord diagrams, I'd love to see the book that customer was looking at because it certainly isn't this one! All the songs have a brief introduction, some describing the theory behind the music or little bits of trivia. There are some chord diagrams just below the introduction on some songs, then it goes into the tab for guitar(s) bass and drums. To say it was only chord diagrams shows either a lack of understanding when it comes to tablature or an extremely brief skim read that landed on the chord diagram pages only. Either way, the books does contain tab, not just chord diagrams.
Overall, the book is in my opinion a really good buy. The book covers 20 songs, all of which a true Hendrix fan would be familiar with. The extra drum/bass tab can be a bit of a hindrance, but with songs as complicated as these you may be best taking it slow and learning them piece by piece anyway. Perhaps making books for each individual instrument would have been a bit easier to follow, but I suppose at the same time it's good value for money if you and a friend/band wanted to learn some Hendrix.
