SIMPLY THE BEST 11 Mar 2003
Format:Hardcover
There is far more than just "this is great, not so keen on that." in Jim Murray's Complete Book of Whisky. Mr Murray is, first and foremost, a whisky fan. He writes with a boundless enthusiasm that bursts off every page and even if your favourite drop is one he dismisses, his explanations might open your eyes. Taste is a peculiar thing and Mr Murray realises this. All he asks is your time. After all, he is the one who has travelled around the world many times sampling the best and worst a distiller can do. His passion for the subject and his love for the people and places are easy to feel. This book is easy to like and hard to criticise, a bit like a top-quality 18-year-old single malt, only when you've finished the book, you can still enjoy it!

What a wonderful book. Liking/loving whiskeys of all natures, from all areas and all countries I was intrigued to find out more about them, origins and the production. I had the Jim Murray Whiskey bible but this is more than a bible, it explains the process, the method behind it all.......I am growing to love them even more now I have read this and is great for anyone with or without a love for Whiskey as it is so unbiased, interesting.....a must for a vacant coffee table.....
