It`s fair to say that compared to Jim Jarmusch Collection Vol.1 [DVD] [1980] this is certainly going to appeal to a broader audience. The three films on Vol.1 are slightly harder work to anyone unfamiliar with his work, but I wouldn`t say they are more rewarding for that; I think the three films showcased here, MYSTERY TRAIN, NIGHT ON EARTH and DEAD MAN, are absolutely superb; possibly only the last of these three is less than perfect cinematically but you are treated to the superb soundtrack from one of my favourite musicians, Neil Young, and a stellar cast.
Night On Earth was the first Jarmusch film I saw, and I thought it was breathtaking and still do. Five taxi drivers and their various pick-ups in five different cities is a brilliant premise, and I can`t recommend it highly enough, beginning with the Winona Ryder skit in LA, to the comedic brilliance of Armin Mueller-Stahl in NY, to the blind girl and taxi driver`s conversation in Paris. Mystery Train is loads of fun, and it`s tied up so well at the end, with some sublime moments of silence where Jarmusch allows the camera to do all the talking...something he is probably better, more confident, and more competent at doing than any other modern director. The young Japanese couple are so watchable. Dead Man is surely the only acid western in existence, shot in black and white, with Johnny Depp starring and assisted by some brilliant cameos, particularly from a terrifyingly insane Robert Mitchum.
A brilliant introduction to Jim Jarmusch, and for my money, he`s never made better films than these three (although it`s definitely worth checking out Ghost Dog, Broken Flowers and Coffee and Cigarettes too).

Jim Jarmusch is one of my favourite directors and so what a boon it was to discover the offer from Amazon: a second 3 CD collection of Jim's films at a very good price. These came swiftly and without any problems.

Look, I bought volume one as well as volume two- i'm far too busy and happy catching up with Jim to spend time writing reviews. Just buy the things for yourself. X D
