Book Description

Jim Corbett - Friend of the Wild
In the early 20th century when the hills of Kumaon echoed with the bone-chilling roar of a man-eating tiger, it was the sure shot hunter, 'Carpet Sahib' who went to put an end to the terror. But what was often missed was the intense sorrow he felt when one of these magnificent creatures had to be shot down.
Jim Corbett understood the tiger and respected it. He recognised its irreplaceable place in the circle of life and described it as the 'large-hearted gentleman with boundless courage'.
This Amar Chitra Katha tells the story of Jim Corbett, tracing his life and his love for one of India's most valuable and endangered animals.

1.0 out of 5 stars Its a comic book 11 Aug. 2012

This book is a comic book. Because it is a comic book it needs to have full pages for the occasional full page illustration; this means that a full comic book page will only fit on a kindle screen with text that is too small to read. (I read books with the smallest kindle text size, but the text in this one is smaller yet.)

If you insist on buying this book, buy the physical version.

A good introduction to The legend. Focuses more on his work rather than his exploits as a hunter. Worth reading to know more about the man.
3.0 out of 5 stars Unreadable on a Kindle 19 Dec. 2012

It is OK as a quick summary/tribute of the life of Jim Corbett drawing on some incidents from his books with a little bit about his later life. It is set out as a comic book and is virtually unreadable on a small Kindle screen. I finally managed to read it using Kindle PC.
