When I first heard Otep, I was amazed. Their sound is so fresh; metal music with a hint of rap in their lyrical style. No, they are not 'Nu-metal', which is a good thing, but yes, they are superb. All the songs on this mini album are good, 'Germ' being the exception as it isn't really a song, more of a spoken speech. But every other track is outstanding - so if you want to hear the sound of 2002, get this album. You won't regret it!!

Otep are in short amazing, hailing from S.B. home of Snot (R.I.P. Lynn Strait) and Ultraspank (the greatest band you've probably never heard of). They sound a little like Snot and Nonpoint, with the exception of a female vocalist. Singer Otep (who the band is named after) has a tenacious rap attack that leaves the listener quite stunned, much like Senser's Kersin Heigh. They're definetly something to get excited about.
