Not what I ordered but now sorted out very generously - see above. This was a miniature (and incomplete) version of what I wanted and that was not clear from the advert

A great book that should be in all Jewish homes and even non-jewish homes so that everyone would understand the religion better. Even members of the Jewish faith, whilst maintaining the many traditional aspects of the religion will not always know why we do something. This book will have the answer. When your child or a non-jewish friend asks why do we do a particular thing we can usually give an answer, but it may not be exactly right. Consult 'The Jewish Book of Why' and your problems are over. I wish I had discovered it years ago.

I thought this was a proper book...not a matchbox sized thin. Poor value really for what it is, not getting the 2nd one

I found this little book helpful for my course on judaism. While it was basic it gave the answers I was looking for

This is a good book that you can pick up for either one question or many at a time.

I left it downstairs one day and visitors picked the book up and started reading it themselves. You can jump around the book, and always find a question you either didn't know the answer to, or some answers probably appear different to what you currently believe.

The book gives both an orthodox or reform opinion to most answers. It's very easy to read - most answers are about half a page long. It's written in a very straightforward style.

Excellent as a Barmitzvah present. Amazon sometimes does a deal for both the first and second books together - I've only read the first one.
