This book illustrates the Victoria & Albert Museum's extraordinary jewellery collection. The photography is stunning - superbly lit and reproduced in very high quality - and the text is clear, approachable for the non-expert but highly informative. I read it from beginning to end but it's the sort of book that you could really enjoy just dipping into. Delightful

Great pictures! 12 May 2009

Excellent pictures and text. Perfect reflection of the V&A jewels collection (London). Perhaps good to have a look on the book before going to visit the exhibition (permanent exhibition) or bring it with you to have the explanations. I am more than pleased with that book.
Good information, and excellent photos 5 Jan. 2011

This book is an excellent survey of the V&A's jewelry collection. I visited the museum a few months ago and the first thing I did after leaving the jewelry exhibit was head to their bookstore to look for a book just like this one. I bought one copy there, and then after returning home I ordered five more copies from Amazon to give as gifts.

Since the V&A collection is quite comprehensive, the book can also stand on its own as a survey of jewelry over the last few centuries. It's well written and organized, with very nice photos.
A wonderful resource covering an amazing collection. 29 April 2013

Having travelled recently to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, I found I just didn't have enough time to fully explore the jewelry collection, nor stop in the shop to see what book they had on the subject. I was thrilled then to find this book - comprehensive enough to feel like I was seeing the exhibit (at least in part), interesting text added to my knowledge and photography good enough to allow you to study the pieces in some detail.
If you can't take them home from the V&A here is an alternative 17 Aug. 2010

After spending an afternoon being dazzled by the beauty of the Victoria and Albert Museum's jewelry this was my consolation. Beautifully photographed and helps me recapture the memory of several favorite pieces. And if you love jewelry get yourself to London and the V&A!
