This movie with factual accuracy is superb, this is probably why it didnt make it to the movies, they hate complex factual stuff.
Kiefer Sutherland was fantastic as the controller as he always is in most parts he played. I couldnt help wanting to hit the cocky snot Cruise but hey. He also portrayed a nurn out ATC well.It is true what they say that most ATC's [air traffic controllers] burn out at about 35.
This film is great if you like Kiefer Sutherland, Aircraft, Airports, factual movies but i would suggest you get up to speed on the american air traffic control jargon as it is used in the film but not explained to the viewer.
Wont appeal to everyone but a good movie if you want suspense.

I really enjoyed watching Ground Control.It's a low-budget film that shows what you can do with strong dialogue,good acting,believable characters and an interesting storyline.Bickering air traffic controllers have to team up to land planes safely on a night when everything that can go wrong does go wrong.

When stormy weather and failing equipment put a flight in danger , Jack Harris, a retired air traffic controller, still haunted by a past plane crash, mst band together with a cocky young controller and his seasoned supervisor to prevent a fresh disaster.

This is a top Extremely engaging drama with a surprisingly classy cast and a top performances all around from Kiefer Sutherland (24) is great in the main role, and is given strong support from Kelly McGillis (Top Gun)Kristy Swanson (Buffy") and Robert Sean Leonard (Dead Poets Society)and Bruce McGill (Law Abiding Citizen )and Michael Gross(Tremors)and Margaret Cho(Drop Dead Diva) plus the one and only Henry Winkler ("Happy Days") The real good surprise with this movie is that almost all of it takes place in a single set, a fact that the director managed to cover up. It seems that real care was poured into 'Ground Control' It's incredibly well done,with a truly riveting climax
