What wonderful stories of faith. The boldness and faith written of in this book is beyond comprehension. The people in the stories were and are a real testimony to the rest of us. I had no idea that so many are still being persecuted in such horrendous ways. It is a real heart opener to read of the peace these brothers and sisters in the Lord had while in prison or while being put to death. This is a book worth sharing with others.

WOW! Like the other reviewer, I first got this book because it's by my favorite Christian group. But soon, I realized how inspiring and encouraging this book is and how it challenges all of us to be bold about Christ, no matter what the cost! What really touched me was those who were told things like "your child will be killed if you don't refuse Christ" and yet they were still able to be bold for Jesus, even if it meant their own child or loved one being killed. How many of us could do that?! This is an outstanding book and it's a tribute to those who found something worth dying for. If you don't find something worth dying for, then you're not really living.

I was introduced to this book after Spirit West Coast and was apalled that there has been more martyrs in the last few years than there were in 100a.d.(When the Roman Empire was persecuting the church.) This book challenges you to not take your faith for granted. Compared to these horrifically true stories, we have no reason for not sharing our hope with others. I recommend this book to every Christian that wishes to grow stronger in the Lord.

This is a powerful book of real life stories from "Jesus Freaks" both past and present. Similar to movie The Passion, you can't really come away from it thinking you enjoyed it as such. Only that it is moving, thought provoking and inspiring. Prepare to be challenged.

I bought this book in a second hand book shop in a university I work in and there are few outward signs of the Christian life but little did the devil know how it inspired me to pray and cling more firmly to my faith such as it is.
I hope I never have to make some of the choices these martyrs made but even in everyday life we could learn that Christ took time to die for us, let us all take a little time for Him today and everyday.

This book is AWESOME! It's the best Christian book I have ever read. The style of writing of DC Talk is amazing. The prayer pointers are really good, and really got me going into prayer again. Overall, amazing book, I LOVE IT!
