In this book, David Pawson has conducted an extensive study of the Bible to try and determine what they teach about the Baptism in (the) Holy Spirit. Rather than just selecting some proof-texts to back up his ideas, he instead conducts a broad overview of both Old and New Testaments to arrive at a viewpoint that is truly unique.

Having dveoted many pages to exegesis, he then moves on to consider the differing views held by Christians both past and present. Ultimately, he concludes that no single tradition has done full justice to the biblical texts and appeals for a re-think. David doesn't suggest that he has all the answers, but appeals more for us to reason together from the Scriptures.

As he tends to say at the beginning of most of his books, come with an open mind, an open heart and an open bible. Even if you don't agree with everything he says (and it's by no means guaranteed that you will), you'll have learnt more of what the bible has to say.
