Jessie is the first book by Anna Jacobs that I read. I found it to be a very absorbing tale, full of lots of little titbits of information regarding life on the railway gangs. It is clearly written making for a very relaxing and easy read - great for holidays and trips.I enjoyed reading it so much, that I immediately went out and bought several more of Anna Jacobs novels!

I have read most of Anna Jacobs book and have enjoyed most of them. I loved this book. Once started I could not put it down. It's amazing to think that people used to live like this and makes you feel so grateful for modern day technologies. It was a lovely heart warming book.
