5.0 out of 5 stars Jesse Stone Hits Mark Agaian 13 Sep 2010
Anyone interested in a little more depth to the characters in murder mysteries with an edge - and not a little humour - ought to invest in this Jesse Stone series. Even Jeff Beal's music is above average (I sought out the rare CD that goes with the series). 'No Remorse' is a tad slower than some of the others, even so it beats the hell out of most of the competition. Selleck was born for this role. And watch out for the off-beat and excellent 'Suitcase'. One of the best-ever TV series. Highly recommended. Peter C Glover, England (and no - I have no connection whatsoever to the US series makers)

5.0 out of 5 stars European format please 23 Sep 2011
When will this DVD be available in European format? I have collected all but two in the series of Jesse Stone movies and am frustrated at not being able to see the two that remain stubbornly in NTSC. If anyone can help with information on this, please comment on my review. thanks. On the basis of all the other Tom Selleck/Jesse Stone stories I've seen which have been beautifully filmed and most excellently acted, I'll give this one 5 stars anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another excellent outing for Jesse ... 18 Sep 2010
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
All the usual suspects in this film - Handy is out of gaol and selling used cars!
The usual slow pace, almost depressing which draws you in. Then the brief, violent climax. Brilliant!!!
Bring on the next one. I assume there are at least 2 more as this one didn't represent one of the books.

5.0 out of 5 stars MAKE YOUR DVD PLAYER MULTI-REGIONAL .... 25 Sep 2014

Absolutely wonderful series - recommended to anyone who likes a well paced thriller without
horrific violence or car chases, just good Police procedural format with the always excellent
Mr Selleck (just watching DVD's of Blue Bloods too - fabulous) .

And, should you not have a player that plays Region 1 DVDs then may I suggest that you go the
Martin Lewis site -

at the following link - as this will tell you how to go about making your Region 2 player multi-regional :

All quite legal and opens up your reviewing capacity to a lot more films etc from both Amazon and

However, do bear in mind that if you order from a Supplier who is shipping from the U.S. or Canada
you might well be subject to hefty Import Charges. The Amazon seller choices will state if they
are imported DVDs. Best to buy a used copy from and avoid that.

4.0 out of 5 stars World Weary Stone 2 Sep 2013
This is not the best Jesse Stone film, it varies from Robert Parker's stories and was co-written by Selleck. He has been suspended from his job as Police Chief in Paradise, and has been called by his friend Healey in Boston to assist in finding a serial killer. This leads to all sorts of problems for friends and enemies in the Boston area.

In the meantime, his colleagues back in Paradise must look for the person or persons responsible for the thievery at some gas stations. Rose played by Kathy Baker is just the best. She knows how to play detective, and even though, at times she has to call Stone for advice, she does her job. Luther, played by Kohl Sudduth finds his bearings and is turning into a competent policeman. William Devane, who plays Stone's psychiatrist, is doing his best to attempt to limit the amount if alcohol Stone consumes, but at times he has no control, and he admits it. Saul, a used car salesman is newly released from prison and helps Stone with contacts.

Again, much time is spent on looking at Stone's life and his misery. Even his dog is tired of Stone's drinking. Too much time is consumed with Stone's emotional issues, and not enough time on the serial killer. It seems Stone knows who it is, and is wont to find that person, case closed.

Recommended But Not As Good As The Previous Stories. prisrob 09-02-13

5.0 out of 5 stars love the jesse stone films 28 Mar 2013
As a avid fan of Tom Selleck anyway and a mystery buff, these Jesse Stone films have everything. So far I only have 4 of them on DVD that are on region 2, and watch the other 4 on the TV, (this one included) so fingers crossed that the other 4 will eventually go to region 2.
They are all well acted out by Tom Selleck as all of his stuff is anyway, with all the plots & twists that will keep you hanging on to the very last drop to see what enfolds.
Absolutely brilliant, hope he makes more of the Jesse Stone films.

5.0 out of 5 stars JESSE STONE 23 Feb 2014
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
There is something fascinating about this character. He has imperfections which make him less a hero model than hero models of my youth. Perhaps more of the classical Greek real human being. One can look forward with sadness to his inevitable self destruction. However it happens he will have brought it on himself. Why can't his writers let him reform, find a loving partner and have kids.
After 59 years of marriage and great grandchildren I wish him happiness. OK Sir/Madam he does not exist but it's my wish for tormented mind.
