Helpful guide for walking on the island of Jersey,

I have just spent 14 days of walking on the island of Jersey and I have used the brandnew Ordnance Survey Style "Jersey. Official Leisure Map" (2009 edition) and the countryside guide "Landscapes of Jersey" by Geoff Daniel. Both were very useful. The Official Leisure Map in Ordnance Survey "Style" is not so good as the Ordnance Survey maps and when you compare the walks in this Sunflower guide you will discover quite some very nice paths and walks that are not on the Official Leisure Map. What I did first was add the paths and walks that were in the Landscape guide on the Offcial Leasure Map to make it more complete. The best walks in the guide are walks 2, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 (I have done the greatest parts of all of them except 15). The "Landscapes of Jersey" has less pages than most other Landscapes guides and is therefore cheaper.

I bought this book before I went to Jersey and was encouraged to find it for sale in the tourist information centre in St Helier. I did six of the walks and found the information accurate. The information about connecting buses was particularly useful.

Essential Guide for Jersey,

Jersey: Car Tours and Walks (Landscapes)
Because Jersey does not have rights of way and the equivalent of Ordnance Survey, information on walks is poor. Therefore this guide is essential especially the maps. Make sure you take your compass as this is often the only way of finding the route.
