This album is pure eighties heaven! I grew up on this album, with my mum playing it all the time and it has become ingrained in my consciousness. As soon as the opening bars of `Madonna's Eyes' start I'm transported back to my childhood. This album is synthesizer heavy as you would expect from this era and the songs are catchy as anything. Jennifer Rush's powerful voice shines through on every track and highlights for me are `25 lovers' and `I See A Shadow (Not a Fantasy)', although the whole album is very strong overall. This is a short album by today's standard, but perfectly crafted and although many will buy this for `Power of Love' alone, they may well be surprised by how good the rest is. A great slice of eighties pop/rock from an underrated and overlooked artist. Well worth a try.

I have previously owned this album for a good few years and somehow I'd managed to lose it a while ago. This is to replace it and it is as good as I remembered. her vocals are quite distinctive, full bodied with plenty of authority. Not like the thin and shouty angst ridden vocals that seem to be the current fashion on many of the current crop of female artists.
The songs are straightforward and suit her voice. Go on give it a try.

This is pure 80s in terms of the sounds, which are cushioned by synthesizers, and the way the voice mixes with them. But this is all to the good - and what a voice it is. Occasionally sounding a bit like Annie Lennox or Stephanie Mills, depending on the song, but really Jennifer Rush gives a rush of emotion to the listener that is something to discover. I bought it having revisited The Power of Love on YouTube, and realising that it had a feeling I had always loved, and still do. It is placed last on the album, and is a kind of pop perfection where everything is just right. But the other songs are by no means a let-down and the whole sequence is very enjoyable and makes you feel more relaxed instantly!

I really liked Jennifer Rush. I purchased both her major albums - and having just listened to them again recently, really should have bought more.

Jennifer Rush looked and sounded pretty cool singing the latest sound of the 80s - clad in her leather outfits. Many sadly will only remember her for her ballad: 'The Power Of Love', but ironically, it wasn't this particular song that really turned my attention to her, but her subsequent single material that made me buy this; '25 Lovers' , 'Ring Of Ice' and 'Madonna's Eyes' - all featured here on this great album! I think those who have never heard anything other than her massive hit, would be somewhat surprised at her album material - it's really good, catchy and powerful stuff.

At the time, she was more successful over here (UK) than America, and was often appearing on TV shows, and I once thought she was British. I remember her singing her new single at the time 'Destiny' from her forthcoming album - her second: 'Movin'' - I then knew I had to have that too!

Nobody else really looked like her, and nobody else sounded like her, and having just read a bit about her on the Internet, it seems that these factors (believe it or not!) actually caused a bit of a problem at how to market her material - shame...

Great singer - great albums!
