Neil Jenkins is a rugby legend, the working class hero from the Valleys who remains unaffected by fame and his astonishing achievements in the world game. When he announced recently his retirement from international rugby, Wales’s most capped player left behind an incredible legacy, not least his record as the top points scorer in test rugby, the first man to break the magical thousand points barrier.
This official programme tells the official story of ‘the Ginger Monster’, the boy who, by grit, determination and talent clambered to the very pinnacle of the game. It tells how he had to overcome prejudice and the critics to prove he deserved his place among the all-time Welsh greats. It includes memorable action from his career with Pontypridd, Wales and the British Lions in South Africa in 1997, which to many was his crowning glory. With extensive interviews with the man himself and contributions from among others, Phil Bennett, Jonathan Davies, Rob Howley, Scott Gibbs and Jonny Wilkinson, Jenks is an affectionate tribute to a player who is held in such affection. He is still one of the boys, but he is also a true sporting hero.

Interesting insight into the life and times of a very underated player. If he had played in a different era, he would be classed as a ledgend.

This DVD was very close to what many people in South Wales are brought up into, eg mini rugby and the youth era's then theres those who can and those who can't! Jenkins obveyously can and I thought the DVD was fantastic! Especially the interviews with Neils old man! Brilliant! Typical Welsh family with a hero! Superb!NICE ONE NEIL!
