Format:DVD
Despite popular opinion I found the DVD of the staged production of Jekyll and Hyde a delight. Despite the lead's noticable lack of stage experience he was well supported by a professional and talented cast. The performance of Lucy and Emma being especially pleasing.
Although the musical does echo at times the sounds of its predecessors it is not in anyway less rewardable than any of the other original musicals released today. Its a refreshingly Brechtian approach to a timeless literary classic which with the right cast could prove a masterpiece.
Good or evil? Evil or Good? Jekyll and Hyde is a sophisticated piece of contemporary theatre which I long to see brought to the stage in England.

Musicals are one of the few things that can make you experience every emotion in the space of 2-3 hours! Jekyll & Hyde is no exception. When Hasselhoff played Jekyll, I'm afraid it was cringe worthy but I thought as the show went on, he portrayed Hyde quite successfully. Thankfully he was supported by the breath-taking performance of Coleen Sexton, this was the first time I had seen her perform and it certainly will not be the last! Andrea Rivette was also brilliant, but Coleen has a unique voice which I fell in love with straight away!
If you love the music in Jekyll & Hyde, then I would suggest buying it, but the stage production needs a lot of work, it is too static, and with Hasselhoff's baywatch poses makes it look even worse! I have rated this with 4 stars (not only because of Coleen!)as on the whole there are some fantastic performances, including George Merritt who is a great actor. Think I've said enough now!

A seriously good musical. Im not a huge Hasselhoff fan and I wasnt sure how Id rate him. I actually forgot it was him.

I thought this was amazing, "Dangerous game" was sung with such unbelievable strength and passion, it blew me away. 100/10 stars from me. Simply Brilliant.
