I'm a big fan of all of Jeff May's books (Healthy Home Tips, reviewed here; My House is Killing Me; and Mold Survival Guide). Each fills a niche, but I've found Healthy Home Tips to be broadly useful, with information that is succinct and accessible. It has helped me understand and fix a variety of problems, focusing primarily on moisture and indoor air quality. I recommend it.
