5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for nimble fingers 3 Jan 2011
With clear and simple instructions, full colour pictures, using scraps of wool you can make these adorable knitted characters - a bride and groom, nurse, amusing clown - witch for Hallowe'en, fairy, snowman, chef with cake for birthday child, and so many more - 18 in all - for children, bazaars, mascot gifts etc. If you contribute to the gift boxes organised by Shepherds purse for poor children in Eastern Europe or other similar charities, they would delight any child lucky enough to find one in its Christmas shoe box. They are great fun and absorbing to knit. If you are new to Jean Greenhowe's books you will find them entrancing, if you know her other books eg Mascot Dolls, then this is a worthy companion. Have fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely 24 May 2012

A wonderful book of lovely dolls. I've given it four stars not 5 because I'm new to knitting and found most of it within my level, but some difficult to understand, however, I think this is more a reflection on my skills, not the gift dolls patterns. I see many happy hours of knitting ahead.

5.0 out of 5 stars ADs above really. 16 May 2014

Most of Jean Greenhowe's patterns get knitted up over the year and sold at Xmas at various coffee mornings and other functions. Some of the toys are in more demand than others but we are happy to oblige.
