Product Description

Product Description

Jealousy can invade every relationship, whether it be with husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, family or friends. If we love others and need their love in return we can all suffer from the pain of jealousy.

Dr Hauck believes jealousy is a self-defeating emotion which drives away the love we crave. He explains what makes us feel jealous, and shows us how we can control it. He distinguishes between jealousy, envy, possessiveness and suspicion and offers practical advice on how we can overcome these in ourselves and in those we love.

I found this book to be very helpful and quite life-changing. The book starts off by talking to you as the jealous person and, at first, makes you feel terribly guilty for being jealous and the liberties that you bestow on other people by being jealous, but then it explains the ways in which jealousy occurs and the reasons behind it and also explains the very surprising notion that no-one can make you jealous, only yourself. This had never occured to me before. As a jealous person, this book has been very helpful and has made me become more understanding of myself and would also be so to anyone who is in a relationship with a jealous person.

A lifesaver! 9 Sep 2004

Anyone who knows they are jealous or who thinks they are wrongly accused of jealousy should read this. I found this book a real help. Having been on the receving end of extreme jealousy in a past relationship I never really understood how my jealousy made my partner upset and unhappy. Because I had suffered jealousy at its worse, I thought he didn't really understand jealousy and that my demands were quite normal. So reading this book made me see everything from his point of view and made me take a good look at myself. I read this book at the make or break point of our relationship and I still don't know if he is ready to give it another chance but reading the book has made me see that if we do split all is not lost, we'll both get over it and I won't carry this demon into future relationships.

Superb book. You probably have never thought about why some people behave like they do. Partners who constantly tell you its your problem when actually its jealousy on their part. Gives helpful advice on how to deal with jealous people. Most importantly it explains why they behave like they do. Well worth a read
