5.0 out of 5 stars Chris Gibbs says..., 6 April 2009
This review is from: The Jealousies (Paperback)
If you are looking for a book that breathes new life in to words & challenges the boundaries of conventional literacy, then look no further... you've just found it!

The Jealousies is a fantastic collection of original, abstract, inspirational, thought provoking and emotionally charged verses by an incredibly talented and exciting new poet.

Through his works in this book, Benjamin Stainton not only presents a highly intelligent spin on words, but is able to capture and twist the very essence of their collective meanings. His style encourages you to read and understand at a level akin to the heart rather than the mind and his verses speak directly to the soul.

"I am the shelf of the sky,
falling into winter's mouth." (The Broken)

Stimulating literary brilliance...

...Pure Genius!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Abstract Reality, 8 Dec 2008
This review is from: The Jealousies (Paperback)
In Benjamin Stainton's The Jealousies, birth, womanising, hangovers, love, states of mind and much more are all re-created in flickering images.
Stainton is a master of metaphors and uses them effectively to unpeel honesty without banality. The poems manage to be simultaneously real and abstract; both strange and accessible. This is a first collection full of originality, embedded in emotional energy.
