Well, when you are searching for the meditative or inspiring or elevating or introspecting or spiritual sides of jazz.. Lots are there and lots of good stuff too! From the Mahavishnu Orchestra and other pieces of Mc.Laughlin to 'India'of John Coltrane ( inspired trough the appearance of Alice Coltrane in his life, who takes quite a nice piece of this CD with her music) and the latest products of Rudresh Mahathappa and Vijay Iyer... ( just for the tip of giving it a listen,not on this CD)
This CD contains some of the most joyfull works from the spiritual-jazz collection. It's the right CD to check them out and, while listening, to do a nice drive in the car, sit and relax, work with it in the background or pull up the volume a bit more while outside..
It's a well-selected portion of joy.
I give 4 stars because only the last number is not my cup..
Here it goes over the top by calling-in HARE HARE by voice instead of letting the music dwell to the free spirits... For me it is not about names or mythical claims .. It is about being, being there and sharing it in a sensitive awareness.
