Usual thing - 2 year old iphone and battery charge lasting 4-6 hours - apple want 65 quid to sort out this little kit does it for less than 10. Whole thing took 10 mins and now the charge lasts 24 hours - brilliant. Do go to You Tube and look at the videos on how to perform the operation - take care as some say to take out 3 or 4 of the philips screws to get battery out, but in my limited experiance just the one that covers the batery connector is fine and they are quite fiddley to get back in as the magnet in the phone means that your screwdriver get magnetised and hence the metal bits and bobs are a bit fun and games - I put a little bit of blu-tac on the end of the screwdriver and this helped to 'hold' the screws better and made the job easier. The 2 case screws to get the cover off are much simpler though. You do need to be a bit 'brutal' to get the battery out as its glued quite hard but the tools do the job you just have to be a bit brave ;) Well done Jazooli!

DO NOT BUY THIS BATTERY KIT!
I successfully installed it a day ago and after 20 minutes of it being on charge for the first time, the battery became insanely hot and it must have leaked its battery acid inside of my iphone 5 which is now completely broken

I've replaced a 3GS battery before - a much more complicated job and when I turned it on, I had a functioning phone. It's supposed to be easy to change an iPhone 5's battery. After changing THIS bettery I didn't have a functioning phone. Is it my fault? It might be and it might not. (I couldn't test the battery separately from the phone.) If you buy this battery replacement and it doesn't work ... It's up to you.

My '5 always had a bad return for a full charge. Apple charged me lots of money to get this phone fixed. Moral of the story? Don't buy an iPhone 5. Obviously, this is only my opinion...

I followed everything that was asked of me to change my battery and, not only did it not work but it killed my phone and had to purchase a replacement so THANKS! Would not be interested in ever swapping out the battery in an iPhone. This is my feedback not the thoughts of everyone it might work for you.

Battery seems to be working well at the moment. The tools included (apart from the screwdriver to remove the initial two screws) are worse than useless. Suction cup is not big enough and you will definately need your own Phillips screwdriver to remove the internal screws. The actual job would have been a lot easier if jazooli provided the right size tools. So just be aware of this before you begin

I looked at this after seeing the eye watering charges Apple were making to change batteries. Kit and battery arrived promptly and after a few watches of some YouTube videos and a nervous 5 mins opening the iPhone and swapping the battery out ( ridiculously small screws) . I was done and the battery charge is holding up like new and I am feeling slightly techie and smug.....

Firstly, I can't fault the service I received from this company. They were polite, prompt with solving issues and happy to replace faulty parts.

The first battery I received was made in China and the print was crumpled in places, we tried it anyway and all it did was make my phone restart every five minutes (the screen would dim for a moment then restart). So I sent that battery back.
The second one was made in Japan and visibly better, we put it in and at first it did much the same but after a couple of restarts settled down and is now working perfectly, it is also identical to the original battery (also made in Japan).
The screwdrivers's aren't really small enough but all the other tools work fine if you are careful in their use.

Overall, I would make sure you get a battery from Japan (it says on the back) and make sure you are confident in taking apart a somewhat fiddly phone before attempting to replace it, so long as you follow the instructions from a site such as https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPhone+5+Battery+Replacement/10587(I would recommend skipping steps 8-11 and getting someone else to hold the screen up for you so you limit chances of damaging something else) the phone should be fine. Whatever you do, don't lever the battery out near the logic board connection, if necessary use the side next to the edge of the phone, if you damage the logic board it's one heck of a job to replace it.
